Krowji welcomes new graduates

Last month four new tenants were welcomed to Krowji, as the successful recipients of the 2017 Cornwall College Graduate Krowji Studio Award.

Sarah Cooling – Mixed media and ceramics

Vanessa Penrose – Mixed media, ceramics and photography

Toni Mason – Photography

Caro Beech – Printmaking and mixed media

The annual Cornwall College Graduate Studio Award gives the four selected graduates the opportunity to work rent free for 12 months in a dedicated studio located in the Percy Williams Building at Krowji.  The Award has been carefully developed to provide a valuable and effective bridge between college and professional practice; graduates receive continued professional development advice from tutors at Cornwall College and being based at Krowji will give them support from the other professional practitioners based there.

The successful graduates have the opportunity to participate in Krowji’s skillshare sessions, studio sessions and biannual Open Studios events.

We are also very pleased to say that since the end of their residency year, two of the 2015 Residency Award recipients Bettina Holland and Joanne Reed and two of the 2016 award recipients Vicki Aimers and Mel Johns have decided to take own their own studio spaces here at Krowji in order to continue developing their practice.
