My work is in mixed media and ceramics. Typically I create artworks that narrate an idea of transparency within the human condition by building layers of ephemera, organza, wax, text, glazes and fabrics or by using materials that express transparency such as porcelain.

I use these materials to explore ideas of the constructs of social conditioning and ways in which our true nature can become buried and lost beneath these constructs, ideologies and belief systems that are built all around us.

By building curious layers of a textured surface I intuitively allow my own nature to become immersed into an inner landscape of my own creation. Here I find unexpected reflections, shades of luminosity, transparency and the stirrings of a slightly mysterious and abstracted world. Simultaneously I recognise my connectedness to the cycles of nature outside of myself and the ebb and flow of all that is.
