Claire draws inspiration from her diverse background including costume, film, painting and printmaking. She subtly references a diverse spectrum of subjects incorporating the Cornish landscape through to Outer space. Claire’s creations are individual pieces of art and are often described as wearable sculpture. She achieves this by working organically and concentrating on intricate detailing, which makes each piece of jewellery one of a kind. Claire continuously explores different jewellery making techniques and works intuitively with the metal giving the organic matter its freedom. Every element of Claire’s practice is handmade. She sculpts with a blow torch, etches and forges with handmade tools so that each piece of jewellery is worn as a story upon the wearer’s skin.
