Shallal offers creative lifeline during lockdown with Picture Post

Krowji-based Shallal Studios has been awarded emergency funding for Picture Post, a new art activity project linking isolated artists during COVID-19, partnering with Project Ability to build a creative community.

A weekly activity pack with ideas and inspiration for making art will be available to download via the Picture Post website supported by a subtitled demonstration video. The resulting work will be published on Picture Post’s online gallery and on Shallal Connect and Create Facebook page throughout the project.

Shallal Studios is encouraging people to get involved with the project online. ‘We really want as many people as possible to access the weekly activity packs and videos online so that they can make art at home’  said Shallal arts facilitator Lou Brett. ‘We’re very keen for people to share their work with us on our Facebook page and website gallery to inspire others to make art at home. Instructions and resources are at www.shallalstudios.com/picture-post and we really hope you will visit, take part and share your work with us”.

This work is funded by Arts Council England’s COVID Emergency Response Fund, Cornwall Council and The National Lottery Community Fund Reaching Communities. Shallal Studios is part of arts charity Shallal (charity number 1166404).
