Creative Kernow, based at Krowji, is the umbrella organisation for the following nine projects. Together we support the production, promotion and distribution of work by creative practitioners in Cornwall because we believe in creativity's transformative power and want more people to benefit from it.

Your day at Open Studios

Have you got Open Studios in your diary?

Come along between Saturday 27th May – 4th June to enjoy a day out at Krowji.

You could start your day with a wander around the Old Grammar School building, peeking inside the old classrooms which are now paint splattered and full of creativity, but make sure you don’t miss the jewellers, textile designers and ceramicists on the ground floor as well as the painters, jewellers, printmakers and photographers in the upstairs studios. Whilst you’re near it, why not pop into the Cafe for a cup of tea and a slice of cake to fuel the rest of your exploration. Head over to the newer Percy Williams building, where you could take part in a workshop where you can drop-in and do some painting and drawing inspired by nature or book in to learn Japanese woodblock printing. The Percy Williams building is home to printmakers, painters, textile artists and many others. We recommend starting at the ground floor and working your way up! Finally, finish your visit in the Science Block where you will find a ceramicist, a jeweller, a glass artist, painters, a leather worker and an illustrator.

After you have explored Krowji, try to head over the main road to The Lofts, Gweal Pawl, to see Cat Rowe in her studio nearby or Redruth town centre is only a 10 minute walk away, why not take a stroll? There are plenty of other Open Studios Cornwall participants close to the 50 taking part at Krowji in Redruth, you can find details of them here.
