Redruth Christmas Procession

Redruth Christmas Events 2015

Christmas time in Redruth reignited the town’s special sense of community spirit with people of all ages who came together to enjoy a host of free festive entertainment including the annual procession, Christmas grotto and shop window displays as well as carol singing, performances, free giveaways and much more.

The much loved annual Redruth Christmas Procession burst into action at 5pm with over 300 children and young people from local schools and community groups who have been working with local artists to create their own artwork which they carried through the streets with Redruth School Samba band leading the way. Workshop co-ordinator and artist Kate Beesley said

We have enjoyed working with all the groups and schools in and around Redruth over the past few weeks, their creativity and imagination is just intoxicating. The procession lanterns were such fun to make and they looked stunning during the procession on Saturday evening.

All participants were be given a Berryman’s Christmas thank you cookie as the Ingleheart Singers started to sing. Everyone was then invited to meet Father Christmas by the miner’s statue and receive their special gift.

Dont miss!
